Hi Amazing Fabulous Creative Human!

I'm so excited you're on this journey with me. I'm Amy Jo, a Midwest gal who decided to make money online from a business idea that I accidentally developed. Let me tell you the story...

I've always had an entrepreneurial mind. When I was 12, I started my first jewelry line and actually sold my creations at craft shows and in home parties (yep, even had little business cards!). I've always been the artsy type, so when I went to school for Graphic Design (later switching to Art Therapy), I found myself on the college campus taking photos of campus events, couples and more. Soon, I decided to start a photography business that I ran for almost 6 years. I did weddings, maternity photos, engagement shoots, etc!

This was my first experience with total entrepreneurial burnout...

There was only one of me. Again. HOW could I create sustainable income?

I ended up graduating with my degree and going back to school to receive my MBA in Marketing. With a 4.0, I dropped out, realizing that this TOTALLY wasn't my jam. I loved marketing, but not in the way I was learning to in school.

Totally defeated, I took a job in 2012 at the local community college in the marketing department where I was in charge of the community education brochures, newsletter communications, and marketing other campus events. I had a cute little cubicle with a nice view and learned SO MUCH about online marketing.

One day, my boss ran in stating that one of the community education teachers wasn't able to do her art class that semester and wondered if I could create a class to teach. Long story short, I agreed and thus, Soul Paint Co was born! I started teaching these amazing art workshops that combined the Transformational Coaching Method (TCM), as well as creative tools to release mental blocks and move people into a start of creative bliss.

Sounds fancy, huh? These art workshops were the BEST and SO FUN to lead. Each session, I'd get a new load of students eager to learn, release creative blocks, and explore art with me.

I LOVED it. My students loved it. And soon, I became known as the Soul Paint chick.

I started offering more classes (7 per semester...phew!) and began doing in home Soul Paint parties generating $300-$400 per night. Again, LOVED IT, but there was only one of me...

The workshops kept me busy and the parties kept me out and about, away from home, more than I would have liked.

"HOW" could I fix this and create more freedom!?

So, I got back to my roots in the online space. I re-created my website/blog I had been playing with since 2009 to make it business centered. I re-branded, created packages that I could sell ONLINE verses being out and about all the time, and I started an email list.

You may have heard of these steps before, but at the time, I was kind of throwing noddles at the wall to see what would stick.

I started offering 3 different online packages where people could work with me 1:1 via Skype (yep, working in my PJ's!) and go through the Transformational Coaching Method with me in the comfort of their own home.

I started offering these packages to my little email list of 200 people, and you know what happened?

I landed my first $1,500 client.

Then my first $3,500 client.

Not long after, I had my first $4,000 day.

I nearly pooped my pants, lets be honest. I felt like I had finally "cracked the code" in the online space and you know what I learned? Giving value is the BEST way to build your community, attract clients you adore, and grow your business.

Here's what my timeline looked like:

2008 - 2014 - had my photography business

2009 - started blogging

2009 - Received POP Scholarship Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners

2012 - Graduated with Art Degree, starting working in marketing department in cubicle, discovered the world of online marketing, list building, email marketing, etc, crafted my online skills, discovered my passion for teaching, started Soul Paint Co.

2012 - started teaching classes, TCM coaching, began offering in home parties, explored the world of virtual business

2014 - began to transition Soul Paint Co online

2015 - Soul Paint Co in front of 40,000 people for big event, began working from home full time, sold first $1,500 program

2016 - Sold first $3,500 program, huge client testimonials, had first $4,000 day, podcast hit New & Noteworthy by episode 3

2017 - Built first online course, expanded Soul Paint Co to offer more passive income, hired by local non-profit to boost marketing efforts and increased campus size by 52% in under 2 years, as well as increased online audience by 200% through list building

2018 - Only offer VIP Days verses longer programs, automated business & client retention

2019 - the possibilities are endless

So as you can see, it's been quite the journey. Entrepreneurship is the BEST thing you can do for yourself. It boosts your confidence, increases your self awareness, challenges EVERY belief that you have and FORCES you to think bigger.

I really hope you enjoy this course. I know everything seems SO overwhelming and maybe you're doubting if you can make this happen. TRUST ME, you can. It's all mindset. Starting with the BELIEF that you can do it is HOW you will do it.
